This standard covers the general design principles recommended for the installation of nitrous oxide central supply systems. It includes either cylinders connected to a common manifold, or systems fed by bulk liquid containers. It covers systems at medical or industrial consumer sites. Also included in the standard is special reference to the following:
- Protecting the system,
- Patients,
- Personnel, and
- Property from fire originating from sources other than the system itself.
