This standard covers a particular type of seamless copper tube (Copper UNS No. C12200). This tube is suitable for general plumbing, similar applications for the conveyance of fluids and those commonly used with solder, flared, or compression-type fittings. The standard indicates how the the type of copper water tube suitable for any particular application is determined.
