Abstract: This American National Standard covers design, application, and use of accident prevention signs or symbols. The standard does not cover street, highways, railroad, or marine signs.
OSHA references ANSI Z35.1-1968 and ANSI Z535.2-2011 in its 1910.261 standard on pulp, paper, and paperboard mills. OSHA also requires in its 1926.200 standard on accident prevention signs and tags that employers comply with ANSI Z35.1-1968, ANSI Z535.2-2011, Z35.2-1968, and ANSI Z535.5-2011, with respect to rules not specifically prescribed in subpart G.
