This standard provides safety requirements for the design, operation, and maintenance of rough terrain forklift trucks intended for operation on unimproved natural terrain and construction sites. This excludes machines designed primarily for earth moving, even if their buckets and blades are replaced with forks, and machines designed primarily as over-the-road trucks equipped with lifting devices.
