This standard covers moving parts of equipment used in the mechanical transmission of power. It provides requirements for safeguarding of such things as flywheels, shafting, link belts, and chains. Among other things, it requires that exposed parts on horizontal shafting seven feet or less from floor be protected by stationery casing; inclined and vertical shafts be secure; and sprockets and chains fewer than seven feet from floor platform be enclosed.
