- 5141 Control of Harmful Exposure to Employees
- 5155 Airborne Contaminants
Federal: 29 CFR 1910.1000
A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- If exposures are suspected to exceed permissible levels, monitoring must be done.
- Appropriate protective clothing must be provided to control skin exposure.
- All monitoring results must be recorded, and the records retained.
- A medical surveillance program may need to be instituted to ascertain the effectiveness of a control method.
California also goes above and beyond federal OSHA requirements with regard to permissible exposure limits for chemical contaminants.
