How well do you understand employment law posters?: Answers

C. Any time during the year. Some poster changes happen on a regular schedule. A minimum wage posting may have an annual update, for example, and might take effect every January 1 or in the middle of the year. These predictable updates happen like clockwork and, when the effective date hits, employers need to make sure to post the new poster.

Other updates are more difficult to plan for. Unpredictable changes could happen at any time. They might be required because of a new law or regulatory change. For example, a discrimination law may be revised, or unemployment insurance regulations may be updated. A new paid leave law may be passed. These can occur at any time, and a poster update is needed when the new law or regulatory change takes effect, and the state releases the updated posting text.
