OSHA’s federal Heat Injury and Illness Prevention rule may only be proposed at this point; however, some states like California, Colorado, and Minnesota currently have regulations which clearly indicates heat as a recognized hazard that every employer will want to circumvent. The proposed standard would apply to all employers conducting outdoor and indoor work in all general industry, construction, maritime, and agriculture sectors under OSHA’s jurisdiction. Until then, employers must protect workers according to applicable heat emphasis programs and the General Duty Clause.
Join our experts as we explore some of OSHA’s proposed requirements including:
- Developing a Heat Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (HIIPP);
- Identifying and responding to heat hazards;
- Establishing heat metric(s) and monitoring systems;
- Designating a heat safety coordinator;
- Developing heat illness and heat-related emergency response plans;
- Providing employee, supervisor, and heat safety coordinator training; and
- Maintaining appropriate records.
We’ll save 10-15 minutes at the end of this webcast to answer your questions. Register today to learn more about how you can cool your compliance concerns while getting a head start on protecting your employees from the heat!
