The current FMCSA waiver, effective October 13, 2025, through January 10, 2026, allows CDL/CLP drivers to carry a paper copy of their medical examiner’s certificate (MEC) for up to 60 days after it’s issued. Carriers can also keep the certificate in the driver qualification (DQ) file, but it must be replaced with an updated MVR within 60 days of the exam.
