Drivers’ annual lists of violations

As of May 9, 2025, the qualification files of drivers subject to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations no longer need to contain any annual lists of traffic violations. The requirement to provide an annual list of violations was removed effective May 9, 2023, and such lists only needed to be retained for three years. Therefore, as of the three-year anniversary of the rule change, interstate motor carriers are no longer expected to have any annual violation lists in their drivers’ files.
