When is a rated load test required?

When repairs or alterations are done a rated load test and report must be available showing test procedures and confirming the adequacy of the repairs or alterations.

Ensure that test loads don’t exceed 110 percent of the rated load at any selected working radius.

Keep re-rating test reports readily available.

Ensure cranes aren’t re-rated in excess of the original load ratings unless such rating changes are approved by the crane manufacturer or final assembler.
