A new carrier will be reviewed, generally after the first 90 days of operation to see if sufficient safety management controls are in place and if they are in compliance with the FMCSRs.
A new entrant will asked to produce the following documents during a safety audit:
- Driver qualification files,
- Driver records of duty status,
- Vehicle maintenance,
- Accident register, and
- DOT-drug and alcohol testing requirements (if applicable).
