Also known as net zero carbon dioxide emissions, carbon neutrality refers to the balance between the amount of anthropogenic (e.g., resulting from the influence of human beings on nature) carbon dioxide emissions and the amount of carbon dioxide emissions removed from the atmosphere through various methods (i.e., sequestration, absorption, or removal).
Achieving carbon neutrality is a benchmark for the State of California’s climate work, targeting and expanding actions to capture and store carbon through various natural and mechanical approaches.
