Warning signs of potential overuse or addiction to opioids may include changes in a person’s physical appearance including weight changes, unkept appearance, dilated pupils, slowed breathing, drowsiness or unresponsiveness, flu-like symptoms (nausea, vomiting, shakiness), or wearing long sleeves to hide their arms.
The person may also have a change from their normal personality, including becoming more isolated or moody, actions such as stealing, or their work performance begins to decline.
