These storage containers must be marked when in transportation in accordance with the provisions of 172.331, for bulk packagings other than portable tanks, cargo tanks, tank cars, and multi-unit tank car tanks. For example, the identification number for liquefied petroleum gas, “1075,” must be marked in the manner prescribed in 173.332, that is, on two opposing sides of containers having a capacity of 1,000 gallons or less and on each side and each end for containers with a capacity greater than 1,000 gallons.
