Summary of requirements
The Office of Hazardous Materials Safety has established guidelines (Appendix A to Subpart D of Part 107) for initial proposed penalties for hazmat violations. In these guidelines is the List of Frequently Cited Violations. This list is used by the Office of Hazardous Materials Safety for making initial penalty determinations in enforcement cases. The list gives a description of the violation, the appropriate section(s) in the regulations, and the baseline fine.
