To title your vehicle within Oregon, mail or bring the following items to an Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle (DMV) Services office:
- Completed title application;
- Original title or ownership document (Certificate of Origin for new vehicles);
- Original lien releases from any previous security interest holders;
- Original releases or bills of sale from any previous owners;
- Odometer disclosure, if applicable;
- Proof of vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection, if applicable;
- Use tax certificate, if applicable;
- Any other requirements based on your location, situation, or vehicle type; and
- Payment for all applicable fees.
Other relevant information includes:
- Tax isn't generally imposed on vehicles or vehicle titles (unless the vehicle is from out-of-state),
- Applications are accepted by mail,
- VIN inspections are required for out-of-state (and country) vehicles, and
- Oregon only offers an expedited title service in certain situations.

Fees: There are fees associated with titling a vehicle within Oregon, including passenger vehicle title fees that range from $101 to $116. A title for an electric vehicle is $192, and a title for a heavy vehicle is $90. Light trailers, travel trailers, motorcycles, mopeds, motor homes, buses, campers, park model RVs, and ATVs have a $101 title fee. VIN inspections have a fee of $7 and can be completed during a titling appointment at the DMV.
