An application must be mailed to or submitted in-person at a local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office to obtain a vehicle title within Nevada, along with some or all of the following items:
- Payment authorization form (ADM 205),
- Lien release (VP 186),
- Proof of liability insurance,
- Vehicle inspection certificate,
- Proof of identification and date or birth,
- Manufacturer's certificate of origin,
- Bill of sale, and
- Payment for all applicable vehicle title and registration fees.
Other relevant information includes:
- The vehicle and/or title may be subject to sales and use tax,
- Vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections are required for vehicles that have never been registered within Nevada, and
- Nevada offers both expedited processing and expedited shipping for additional fees.
Agency: Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.
Fees: There are fees associated with titling a vehicle within Nevada, including a $28.25 complete change of ownership fee. The expedited processing fee is $20, and the expedited shipping fee is $20.
