To obtain a certificate of title within Nebraska, you bust submit a completed application signed by all parties whose names are to appear on the title. Proper evidence of ownership must accompany the application, Proper evidence of ownership includes:
- Manufacturer's statement of origin, or
- Certificate of title (properly assigned).
There is an exception to county-issued titles for apportioned vehicles. Applications and information regarding titles for apportioned vehicles should only be obtained from Motor Carrier Services.
Other relevant information includes:
- The vehicle and/or title may be subject to sales and use tax, and
- Vehicle inspections are required for any vehicle or trailer brought in from out-of-state.
Agency: Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, Driver and Vehicle Records.
Fees: There are fees associated with titling a vehicle within Nebraska, including a $10 title fee.
