To title a motor vehicle within Missouri, the owner must submit the following:
- The Certificate or Title or manufacturer's statement of origin;
- A signed application (Form 108);
- An identification number and odometer inspection, if applicable;
- An odometer disclosure statement (Form 3019), if applicable;
- A notarized lien release (Form 4809), if applicable; and
- Any additional documentation requested at the time of titling.
Other relevant information includes:
- The vehicle and/or title may be subject to sales and use tax,
- All title applications must be submitted by mail or to a Missouri license office, and
- An identification number and odometer inspection is required vehicles titled or purchased in another state.
Agency: Missouri Department of Revenue — Motor Vehicle.
Fees: There are fees associated with titling a vehicle within Missouri, including an $8.50 title fee and $6 processing fee.
