To obtain a vehicle title within Arkansas, you'll need:
- A primary document (Arkansas title, bill of sale, manufacturer statement of origin, out of state title),
- An insurance card, and
- A federal odometer statement.
You may additionally need:
- Your personal property tax number (PPAN) assigned from your county assessor,
- The lien contract/security agreement,
- The county tax assessment for the current year, and
- Proof of paid tax receipt.
Other relevant information includes:
- Credit isn't given for sales or use tax paid to another state on purchases of motor vehicles, trailers, or semitrailers that were first registered by the purchaser within Arkansas;
- The vehicle and/or title may be subject to state sales tax; and
- A vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection is required for vehicles brought in from out-of-state which have been significantly damaged.
Agency: Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
Fees: There are fees associated with titling a vehicle within Arkansas, including a $10 title fee.
