New Jersey incorporated by reference the federal standards for the management of universal waste at 40 CFR 273, with certain additions and exceptions. New Jersey recognizes batteries, mercury-containing devices and thermostats, consumer electronics, certain pesticides, lamps, and oil-based finishes as universal wastes.
