An agreement respecting administration of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992 was signed by representatives of Transport Canada and the Province of New Brunswick in 1996.
Commercial motor vehicles carrying dangerous goods (and overwide vehicles) must report to the Confederation Bridge office prior to crossing the bridge to Prince Edward Island. Take Exit 47 on Route 16 and follow the signs to the office.
Trucks entering New Brunswick are required to have proof of one million dollars in public liability and damage insurance; two million dollars in public liability and damage insurance for dangerous goods carriers.
