Non-divisible loads in excess of 15 feet wide, 13 feet 6 inches high, 110 feet long, and/or greater than 149,999 pounds are considered to be super loads in New Hampshire.
Loads in excess of 13 feet 6 inches high, and/or over a 110 feet long shall be required to provide a “Physical Route Survey” and/or a “Physical Height Survey” for all New Hampshire state routes traveled. This can be provided either directly by the individual carrier online through OverHaul, faxing a copy to the permit office at (603) 271-5990, or emailing to overhaul@dot.state.nh.us. “Physical Route Surveys” and/or a “Physical Height Surveys” shall include the permit number, height, length, routes, the date the survey was performed and survey expiration date (surveys cannot be valid for more than 30 days from date of submission).
Loads in excess of 15 feet wide and/or greater than 149,999 pounds are subject to special engineering reviews. Overweight loads shall provide information showing number of total axles, tire capacities, axle weights and center to center spacings, and traveling anticipated axle weights.
Allow 7-10 business days for processing. If the trip can be completed safely, the Department will issue the permit listing any applicable restrictions.
