Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
The New Mexico Department of Labor, Labor and Industrial Division administers and enforces civil rights and labor standards which have been enacted for the protection of state workers.
There are no major differences between federal and state subminimum wage regulations; however, individuals whose earning or productive capacity is impaired by physical or mental deficiency or injury, may be paid no less than 50 percent of minimum wage.
