Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment administers and enforces civil rights and labor standards which have been enacted for the protection of district workers. The state of Connecticut minimum wage rate is applicable to retail and service, commercial support service, food and beverage, and health and medical industries.
While generally following the federal rule in the payment of subminimum wages, the state allows some exemptions from paying the minimum wage, and defines those exemptions in Section 5 of the Minimum Wage Order and in §8-6-108.5 Minimum wage.
