Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
The California Department of Industrial Relations administers and enforces civil rights and labor standards which have been enacted for the protection of district workers.
While generally following the federal rule in the payment of subminimum wages, the state law does not apply to outside salespersons and individuals who are the parent, spouse, or children of the employer.
