Storm water information - Tennessee
The Division of Water Pollution Control is responsible for the administration of the Tennessee Water Quality Control Act of 1977 (T.C.A. 69-3-101). In addition, the Division is responsible for the non-coal surface mining program and illegal coal mining under the Tennessee Coal Surface Mining Law of 1980, as amended.
Under the Water Quality Control Act, municipal, industrial and other discharges of wastewater must obtain a permit from the Division.
Applications and assistance can be obtained from the appropriate Division of Water Pollution Control Field Office.
