Employer defined
“Employer” means the state and each agency of the state and any other person engaging in any activity, enterprise, or business employing at least one individual. “Employer” does not include a social club or fraternal society with respect to a particular job for which the club or society seeks to employ or employs a member, if the particular job is advertised only within the membership.
Unlawful employment practices
The unlawful employment practices and exemptions are similar to those under the federal Guidelines on Discrimination Because of Sex. The state law includes similar descriptions of what constitutes harassment or a hostile work environment.
Posting
Every employer, employment agency, labor organization and licensing agency subject to the fair employment law must post in conspicuous places upon its premises a poster relating to the provisions of the law.
