California’s sanitation standard is largely the same as federal OSHA’s sanitation standard, with a few minor differences.
A summary of additional requirements includes the following:
- Keep restrooms and washrooms clean and sanitary and in good working order.
- Each water closet shall occupy a separate compartment which shall be equipped with a door and door latch. The door and the walls or partitions between fixtures shall be sufficient to assure privacy.
- Clean up and control water leaks from internal or external sources to avoid the potential for mold growth in work areas.
