Renewable energy certificates (RECs)

Renewable energy, also known as green power, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution as compared to energy sources involved in burning coal or natural gas. Two of the most common sources of renewable energy are wind and solar power. However, not every company can generate renewable energy on- or off-site. Renewable energy certificates (RECs) enable electricity customers to purchase renewable energy and substantiate claims of using renewable electricity. RECs make green power possible for businesses across the country.
