The Oregon Department of Transportation (DOT) has adopted the federal Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Parts 107 – 178 and 180 as are applicable to motor carriers, as week as Part 397 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and amendments, in effect since April 1, 2002.

The Oregon DOT, Commerce and Compliance Division, regulates the transportation of hazardous materials within the state.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers the hazardous waste management program within Oregon.
