New Hampshire has adopted by reference the federal Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Parts 170 – 189, as well as Parts 390 – 397 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and any amendments or additions thereto.
The New Hampshire Department of Safety (DOS), Division of Fire Safety, exercises regulatory control over hazardous materials within the state.
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) is the lead agency in developing and administering the hazardous waste management regulations within New Hampshire.
