The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) has adopted the federal Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Parts 107, 130, 171 – 173, and 177 – 180, as well as Parts 350, 365, 376, 382, 383, 385, 386, 387, and 390 – 397 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, as amended. This adoption applies to all interstate and intrastate carriers.
The Georgia DPS regulates the transportation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste within the state.
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) manages hazardous waste within Georgia.
