The Arkansas Highway Police, a division of the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), regulates and permits the transportation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste within the state.

The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), is the lead agency in administering the hazardous waste management program within Arkansas.
