A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- Minnesota Statutes §182.655 subd. 10a states that employers must provide and pay for all required PPE.
- Employees’ hair is to be contained or secured while working in areas where there is danger of scalp injury from hair becoming entangled in moving machinery parts.
- Employees exposed to vehicular traffic (adjacent to streets, highways, or roadways) are to be provided with and required to wear high visibility garments. Police, emergency medical technicians, and fire personnel are to wear high visibility garments when engaged in traffic control. Garments that meet specifications under ANSI/ISEA Standard 107-1999 meet the requirements for high visibility garments. During electrical work within the flash protection boundary defined in NFPA 70E, workers must wear high visibility garments made of material complying with NFPA 70E.
