Pay transparency
There are no state-wide laws regarding pay transparency in Vermont.
Salary history
Vermont employers may not seek current or past salary information from prospective employees, even those who are current or former employees of the employer. Employers may not use salary history to determine whether to consider a candidate for a position. If a prospective employee volunteers salary history, the employer may confirm that information, as long as the employer has already made an employment offer (including the rate of compensation) to the candidate.
