Oklahoma follows federal OSHA regulations for overhead and gantry cranes.
There are no state-specific requirements except for the posting of electrical warning signs in all cranes.
Posting of electrical warning signs. No person, firm, corporation or association may operate any crane or similar apparatus, any part of which is capable of vertical, lateral or swinging motion, unless there is posted and maintained in plain view of the operator, a durable warning sign legible at 12 feet, reading: “Unlawful to operate this equipment within six feet of high voltage lines.” Each day’s failure to post or maintain such a sign constitutes a separate violation. (63 Okl. St. § 983).
