Florida has included a provision in its state child labor law that requires OSHA 10-hour training for minors aged 16 or 17 who wish to be employed in residential building construction. The requirements are:
- The minor must complete an OSHA 10-hour construction safety training.
- The minor must be under the direct supervision of a person who:
- Has completed an OSHA 10-hour construction safety program;
- Is 21 years of age or older;
- Has at least two years of work experience related to the work being performed.
- The minor may not work on any scaffolding, roof, superstructure, or ladder above 6 feet.
