The only references to requiring fire extinguishers on equipment doing construction work are:

1926.550(a)(14)(i) An accessible fire extinguisher of 5BC rating, or higher, shall be available at all operator stations or cabs of equipment (cranes and derricks).
1926.902(i) Each vehicle used for transportation of explosives shall be equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher in good condition.
