The ERG is one of several ways that may be used to satisfy the emergency response information requirements found in 172.602. However, PHMSA has clarified that the most up-to date emergency response information should be used to satisfy 172.602. If an ERG is used, make sure it contains the most up-to-date emergency response information for the material(s) being transported.
