Members of the rescue team have to be trained in first aid and cardiopulmonary CPR. The attendant can be a member of the rescue team. One of the duties of the attendant is to perform non-entry rescues as specified in the employer’s rescue procedures. If the attendant has non-entry or any other rescue duties, then CPR training is needed. In the standard’s requirements for rescue teams, it says that the employer has to make sure that at least one member of the rescue team who has a current certification in first aid and CPR is available on the team.
