A summary of the additional requirements includes the following:
- The exemption of construction, agriculture, and maritime employment was not adopted in Oregon; lockout/tagout rules continue to apply to all Oregon employers.
- Under an Oregon-initiated rule relating to 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(5), each person's lock is to have either a key or combination which is unique to that device.
- Oregon allows the use of group lockout procedures in all Oregon standards, in harmony with the federal OSHA standard.
- The employer is to provide and use locks which will prevent the inadvertent application of energy or motion to refuse compaction equipment being repaired, serviced, adjusted, cleaned, and lubricated, and follow the lock out procedures, as specified in 1910.147, except during maintenance testing by authorized personnel.
