Transportation of Hazardous Materials
No permit is required to transport hazardous materials within the state.
Transportation of Hazardous Waste
A Hazardous Waste Transporter permit must be obtained from the Rhode Island DEM to transport hazardous waste within or throughout the state. The application fee is $100, and an additional $100 is required for each additional unit.
Once a permit is obtained, vehicles can be added to the established permit online. Vehicle information must be updated annually.
