Carriers who transport hazardous materials within Ohio must register with PUCO if they are operating in intrastate commerce.

Transportation of Hazardous Waste
There are limited regulations for hazardous waste transporters within Ohio. The regulations include:
- Notifying and obtaining a United States EPA identification number;
- Accepting only hazardous waste that is listed on the manifest;
- Following the manifest procedures;
- Delivering the hazardous waste to the facility designated on the manifest or the next designated transporter; and
- Keeping a copy of the signed manifest for three years are the date of acceptance by the transporter.
