Transportation of Hazardous Materials

Any person who transports, or offers for transportation, hazardous materials must register with the United States DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration if:

1. The hazardous materials require placards,
2. The hazardous materials are contained within bulk packaging and have a capacity equal to or greater than 3,500 gallons (13.248 liters) for liquids or gases, or
3. The hazardous materials are greater than 468 cubic feet (13.24 cubic meters) for solid materials.

Transportation of Hazardous Waste

All shipments of hazardous waste must be accompanied by a uniform hazardous waste manifest and a Land Disposal Restriction (LDR) Notification form.
