Transportation of Hazardous Materials
No permit is required for transportation of hazardous materials.
In accordance with 40 CFR 236, ADEQ requires any transporter of hazardous materials to receive an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) identification number prior to transporting hazardous materials. A transporter can receive an EPA by submitting EPA form 8700-12 to ADEQ.
Transportation of Hazardous and Solid Waste
In effect since July 1, 2012, solid waste regulations have implemented fees for self-certification facilities, sewage haulers, and transporters of bio-hazardous medical waste to pay registration and licensing fees. The fees are for initial registration of new or existing facilities and subsequent annual registration. A new fee schedule for solid waste facility plan reviews was also implemented.
Additionally, hazardous waste rules have implemented an increase in application fees, set maximum fees, and established an hourly rate for processing hazardous waste permits.
