A student who successfully completes longer-combination vehicle (LCV) training must be issued a Driver-Training Certificate.

These requirements apply to those who successfully complete LCV training.

Key definitions
- Longer combination vehicle (LCV): Any combination of a truck-tractor and two or more trailers or semi-trailers, which operate on the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways with a gross vehicle weight greater than 80,000 pounds.
Summary of requirements
The Driver-Training Certificate issued to a driver who successfully completes LCV training must be substantially in accordance with the form in 380.401.
- Record retention. A copy of the Driver-Training Certificate, issued to a student who successfully completes LCV driver training, must be provided to the student’s employer to be filed in the driver qualification file.
