OSHA does not distinguish between hearing and hearing impaired employees concerning hearing protection. If the noise levels in the work environment require hearing protection for exposed employees, it must be provided. Actually, it is more important for a person with impaired hearing to wear protection in order to preserve the amount of hearing he/she has left.
