Is a motor carrier required to audit its driver’s logs?

There are no requirements for auditing logs or inspection reports. However, the motor carrier is responsible for making sure drivers are complying with the regulations. Log auditing is one way to do that. Refer to Questions 7 and 8 in the interpretations to Sec. 395.3.
